Description
The Vertical Hardening Machine VHM-H-T-RT-500k60-20k25 is a hardening and tempering machine in one unit. The machine consist of a high-frequency hardening converter (500kHz/50kW), a tempering converter (20kHz/25kW), vertical scanner for both converters and a rotating table.
The design of the machine was made for automatic loading/unloading with robot manipulators. The machine has several operating possibilities, manual mode, automatic mode with robot or without robot. The quick coupling system for inductor and quenching assure a fast transition time from one part to other.
The control of the hardening machine is realised with the newest Siemens PLC and Servo technology using Profinet.
The operator panel is a 12” wide Siemens touch screen, offering a versatile view and easy to use interface to the operator. The use of the Profinet communication technology has several advantages like, easy connection to a remote PC, where the hardening programs can be stored, edited or the whole process can be monitored and all significant data can be archived. In this way an infinite number of hardening programs can be stored.
For the programming of the machine an easy to use and easy to understand programming language has been developed (similar to G-code), the programs can be edited either on the operator panel or on the PC. This particular machine contains a robot programming interface also. All the technological quantities, which influence the quality of the hardening are controlled by PLC, the heating power, the frequency, the quench’s temperature, the cooling water’s temperature are controlled, while the flow of the quench is displayed and it can be adjusted manually and all the temperatures are monitored and displayed.
