Medium-Frequency Converters
MF Compact Converters
MF Compact Converters
The MF compact converters are characterized by relative small power, up to 20kW and frequencies between 10kHz and 50kHz. The load circuit is built in a separate box, connected to the converter with an MF flexible cable. The compact converters contain all necessary interfaces for external control and monitoring, including hard-wired interfaces and industrial buses.
MF Medium-Power Converters
MF Medium-Power Converters
In the medium frequency range, we define the medium power up to 100kW. The converters are built using IGBT technology and the frequency range is up to 100kHz. The medium power MF converters are built usually in one or two standard cabinets (typically 800x800x2000) in a common base frame. The MF capacitors and the output transformer (if there is any) are placed in the converter’s cabinets. Usually an MF output rail is provided for the connection of the inductor.
MF High-Power Converters
MF High-Power Converters
The MF high power converters are used mostly in the heavy-industry for forging or melting applications. Typical frequency range is between 200Hz-10kHz and powers up to several Mega-Watts. The high power converters can feed melting furnaces, channel furnaces, forging inductors having single or multiple outputs. The design of the converters depend on the application, there are converters built in standard cabinets or applications in custom made welded frame. The MF capacitors usually are placed in a separate cabinet or frame with bus bars and water connections.
