Description
The forging converter’s frequency range is well defined, the most applications require 10kHz converter (5kHz-12.5kHz). The forging converter’s design depends on the forging inductor, there are compact solutions, where the converter and inductor are built as one unit and there are distributed solutions – generally for very high power – where the larger sub-units are layed down on the plant’s floor in a more accessible manner.
The forging inductor is usually by a modular design, the inductor consist of several heating zones. The cooling of the inductor is separated from the cooling of the converter, because special safety requirements have to be fulfilled. It is necessary to have a redundant pump-station with 2 pumps, soft starter and inverter, buffer tank, heat exchanger, temperature control and emergency water system.
The water cooled resonant capacitor bank is adjustable. For the compact solution, it is enclosed in the electrical cabinet of the converter, for the distributed solution it is a separate unit placed near the inductor.
A forging system is complete with the feeding and extractor mechanism, the temperature measurement and logging, optimal startup control software, etc. We provide complete design of the heating system, based on the simulation of the heating process. We also provide the customized software responsible for temperature measurement, control, monitoring and logging. All components are carefully manufactured and rigorously tested to meet the application’s needs.
